NJ Woman gets $570,000 from ex in dough-mixer suit

A federal judge for the U.S. District Court found in favor of a NJ woman and awarded her $570,000 and the right to make and market a dough-mixer.

The ex-spouses both own and operate competing businesses selling baking equipment/machinery.

The husband’s attorney states that the husband will be appealing the Judge’s decision as they believe the “decision is a miscarriage of justice.” The 19-year ongoing argument is based upon trademark ownership which the wife claims to have purchased in 2003. The husband claims that the company who sold the trademark rights to his ex-wife did not have ownership of said rights at the time.

I am guessing that the case will be appealed to the State Supreme Court however, the article does not specify as to where they will file the appeal and on what specific grounds on which they will appeal.

  1. Good for her, after so many hassles that she had, she finally got compensated with US$570,000. not too bad.

Even if her ex-husband appeal, I don't think the Supreme Court will evaluate the case again.
