Recycling is the law

In June San Francisco passed a law making recycling mandatory, making residental and commercial building owners sign up for recycling pick up. Compostables collected in the special green colored bins has jumped from 400 tons a day to over 500 tons a day (after the law was passed). The law was made so that San Francisco could meet its goal of having 75 percent of its already substantial collection of recyclable materials away from landfills by 2010. The city is aiming to have "zero" waste by 2020. There is now a $1000.00 fine for building owners who refuse to sign up for recycling pick up.

  1. This is very good move for the govermant. I am proud to say that i recycle and that is does help the enviorment. So, go green, it will help the landfills, and the earth from being so polluted. Next, is those darn cars. We will solve that in about 300 years.
