Convicted Killer Found Mentally Incompetent
Man Won't Stand Trial On Child Endangering Charges

CINCINNATI -- An accused killer was found incompetent to stand trial Wednesday on child endangering charges.
Michael FarmerMichael Farmer, of Winton Hills, fled to South Africa after he was indicted in 1998 on the child endangering charges.
While overseas, Farmer was convicted of killing three people and spent 2 ½ years in a mental institution in South Africa.
He was then deported back to Cincinnati to stand trial.
During the hearing at Summit Behavioral Healthcare Center, Farmer was found to be mentally ill and incompetent.
Farmer was ordered to stay at Summit and will not be released under supervised probation.
Had he not been found incompetent, Farmer would have been required to spend three years on parole in addition to his probation.
His next competency hearing was scheduled for Han. 6, 2010
