Police find counterfeit big brand clothing...

DETROIT (AP) - Detroit police say they've confiscated about $700,000 worth of counterfeit big-brand clothing and apparel during two raids.

Police said Thursday the raids took place Saturday and Tuesday on the city's east side. They say two stores were selling cheap goods under labels including Coach, Polo and Gucci.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents aided the case. Many of the seized items are believed to be from China.

One person was arrested at each store. Police freed them pending charges.

Police say the seized goods are worth about $700,000 based on their suggested retail prices but say they were being sold at a significant discount.

One fake Polo sweat shirt tagged at $149 was on sale for $35. Police say the clothing eventually will be destroyed.
