Since the death of Michael Jackson last June, the world has waited to see if his attending doctor would faces charges related to his death. Today, April 5 2010, this doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, will learn if he will lose his medical license as a condition of bail. According to the article, Dr. Murray pleads not guilty to involuntary manslaughter and has been continuing to practice medicine without the use of anesthesia. It seems as though Dr. Murray’s main defense is that Michael Jackson may have administered the lethal and final dose of a powerful anesthetic called Propofol, which was used to help Jackson sleep.
This article has a few ways that it is related to our current studies of law. First, it illustrates a trial. Second, it shows how the defendant is responding to the charges that are brought against him by the state of California. Lastly, it shows the purpose of licensing citizens to show that an individual possesses the qualifications to perform certain duties.

I just posted another article about the same thing! You can see how I feel. He should lose his license.
ReplyDeleteHaha, great minds think alike. =)
ReplyDeleteI also feel that this Doctor should lose his medical license. I believe that he shouldn't have given any patient an anesthetic daily, at all. Especially to conduct a patient's off sleeping habit! Many doctors presently do not even like to maintain their patients on any sleeping supplements at all, yet an anesthetic. Under no circumstances should have this doctor done what he has done. I believe it is malpractice, and it is very unfortunate someone lost their life over it.
