CVS SELLING EXPIRED PRODUCTS

Connecticut's Attorney General and his office are suing a unit of CVS stores for selling expired food, drinks and over the counter medicine in the summers of 2008 and 2009. More than 20 CVS stores in Connecticut were accused of this. The lawsuit was filed against CVS Pharmacy Inc. by Mr. Blumenthal's office in cooperation with Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Jerry Farrell Jr. "Basic business law and ethics give consumers a right to unspoiled food and safe and effective medicine," Mr. Blumenthal said. "I will fight for significant penalties against CVS, sending a powerful message that expiration dates must be respected. Any item past its expiration date should be off shelves, out of stores." The store was ordered to pay $875,000 in penalties, costs and fees by a New York Attorney General for the same reason.

  1. Thats crazy how big corporation like CVS would neglect to rid their stores of expired items, especially medicine. The people running those stores should be fired.

  2. Definteley agree! especially medicine that is expired can be very dangerous, this actually scares me to think that CVS would do this. I like to go there for a few things here and there and this blows my mind.
