Not-guilty pleas entered for 8 Michigan militia members

This article details the 8 militia members from Michigan that were planning to murder a police officer and then kill as many police officers as possible during the first slain officer’s funeral. Basically, these members formed a group to begin what they considered an ‘uprising’ against the government. The leader of this group, David Stone Sr., made a speech stating that their ‘…goal is a free nation without tyranny. We need to quit playing this game. The time to strike has come. Welcome to the new revolution’.

The attorney for Stone Sr. is stating that his client has the freedom of speech and to assemble groups in the United States of America. They are expecting that the court will clear his clients based on the Bill of Rights. However, I think that we are going to see that this turns more into a terrorism case as it continues. I would not be surprised if these defendants made a plea of insanity.

The irony in this case is that the 8 Michigan militia members wanted to overturn our government and now that they are caught, they are turning to our American, government-upheld rights for shelter.

  1. What is even more ironic is that while the group calls themselves Christians, they advocate murder which is the worst sin.
